2020 Oregon Roan
Our Oregon Roan is one of our most anticipated and well-loved red blends, and each vintage is unique and well-loved.
This red blend is a take on a Rhône-style wine; one we only produce when we have the perfect blend of barrels to make a wine we know you'll love. For our 2020 vintage, we rounded out this Syrah-based blend with Cabernet Sauvignon for depth, finish and ageability, Zinfandel for body and spice. The itense ruby color of this wine is striking. The palate is deeply-rich, with blackberry, boysenberry, & pomegranate. The fruit on the nose and mouth are rounded out by notes of allspice, pepper and tobacco.
Decanting or aerating is recommended. Enjoy now through 2030.
Legacy: Another of our custom red wine blends, the Oregon Roan was first crafted in the 2011 vintage to be a balance to our David's Tableau Vivant and developed a serious cult following. An ode to the Teppola family's love of Syrah, it is an Oregon-style interpretation of the Syrah blends found in the Rhône region of France and exemplifies how unique Oregon's Syrah can be. Each vintage produced features Syrah as the hero varietal, and then is rounded out with varietals from that vintage that will most compliment the flavors presented by that specific harvest's Syrah.
