2019 Oregon Roan
One of our most requested red blends, this handcrafted wine will be a treasure to both those familiar with this Syrah driven blend, and those who are just getting acquainted with it! Our Oregon Roan’s spelling is a playful take on the color and uniqueness of each vintage (reminiscent of a racing horse). The composition itself highlights Syrah as the hero varietal, as an homage to the Rhône region of France. But we choose to blend the Syrah with varietals that enhance the flavor profile, finish and improve the ageability. In its youth this presents as a powerful wine full of bold fruit, featuring a pomegranate and a brambly and peppery nose. As always, the 2019 Roan will reward both those who choose to drink this now, or age it to allow more of the earthy, caramel and spiced notes to come to the forefront. For a wonderful family meal this fall, try pairing it with eggplant parmesan or a rich and savory lamb stew.
